CLOSE UPS

Details of original paintings done by oil and wax artist, Martine L'Etoile, are shown as close up imagery. They are the disconnect to the finished painting. The original pieces of work are meant to be touched and viewed at close range, taking in the enormous amount of serendipitous detail. Aside from being an enlarged image, the simple shapes and colors are pronounced and a genuine abstract painting emerges.

Martine has been painting in this style for fifteen years, and has been published in several books and magazines. Her abstract deconstructive technique has been described as "spiritual" and "otherworldly."

The idea of zooming in on the painting's detail has always been apart of the process. Within each piece, a tactile experience comes to life and the viewer is encouraged to enter. Enjoy a feast for the eyes.

The paintings, in their entirety, can be seen at martineletoile.com.
